- (March, 2020) In March, Fauci told 60 Minutes that masks should largely be reserved for healthcare providers. In April, the recommendations were broadened to include simple masks for the general public.




- (3/2/20) “We can understand that people have seen photos and video of people wearing face masks in other countries, but the CDC specifically does not recommend the use of face masks as a prevention method for COVID-19,” Polly Carver-Kimm, spokeswoman of Iowa Department of Public Health says.

-(1/2/22) Cloth masks don’t protect against COVID according to CBS:


MARGARET BRENNAN: What do you tell parents? Are cloth masks just not good enough anymore?


DR. GOTTLIEB: Cloth masks aren't going to provide a lot of protection, that's the bottom line. This is an airborne illness. We now understand that, and a cloth mask is not going to protect you from a virus that spreads through airborne transmission. It could protect better through droplet transmission, something like the flu, but not something like this coronavirus.
