Science does not support mandatory influenza vaccination or masking of healthcare personnel when it comes to the flu. Canada had a case in 2018 where nurses fought against the "vaccinate or mask" policy of healthcare personnel. The arbitrator ruled in favor of the nurses due to lack of science supporting any benefit.
The screenshot in regards to the Canadian case is a bit reminiscent of 2020-2021, ey?
In November of 2012, a critical review in The International Journal of Family Medicine concluded: “The arguments for uniform healthcare worker influenza vaccination are not supported by existing literature. The decision whether to get vaccinated should, except possibly in extreme situations, be that of the individual healthcare worker, without legal, institutional, or peer coercion.” http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3502850/
A 2014 influenza vaccine study, “Systematic Review of Mandatory Influenza Vaccination in Healthcare Personnel” in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, concluded that evidence is lacking in clinical outcomes to support mandatory influenza vaccination of healthcare personnel. https://www.sciencedirect.com/.../pii/S0749379714002554
In 2018, the Cochrane Library found that a healthy adult only has about a 2% chance of catching influenza and the vaccine likely decreases the chance to 1%. They also found that the influenza vaccine had no effect on working days lost or hospital admission rates. http://www2.cochrane.org/reviews/en/ab001269.html
